Sisu
When Sisu was a puppy she was all bouncy-busy like the rest of her littermates, but the second Paul would pick her up in his arms she would be completely still, almost limp. She would intensely stare at Paul with all the love in the world while now and again she would just move to give him a lick on the nose if possible. The second he would put her down, she would be busy-bouncy, not least jumping to get him to pick her up again!
Once the puppy walks began outside of the kennel Sisu was never far off from Paul; she never goes on detours and she is always the first to come to make sure Paul is right there. Sisu is indeed growing up to be a very responsible little lady with a great head on her shoulders.
The name Sisu had long been on our 'puppy name list.' It was also a submission in the contest to name her sister KARE 11 Sunrise, and we thought it fit this girl so well. Sisu is a Finnish word - the language of the people of Finland where we will be traveling during GoNorth! Fennoscandia 2008. It means 'strength,' 'determination,' 'will' or 'perseverance,' all qualities we think little Sisu will grow up
to have in plenty!
